Police have released a computer generated image of a mystery woman seen visiting the grave of 'Baby April' who was killed three decades ago in a fresh bid to solve the case. The body of a newborn baby, dubbed 'Baby April' by police, was found near Singleton Lake in Ashford on April 3, 1995. Officers believe she died of asphyxiation and her body had been wrapped in a Kleenex tissue bag inside a Motaworld bag.Kent Police say they hope the e-fit of the woman – a female with a pale complexion and shoulder-length grey hair – could help 'find the truth behind the tragic story'. The woman was said to have visited the grave between 2pm and 3pm on June 21, 2026 and appeared to be distressed, according to police. She is described as white, in her 40s, no taller than 5ft 7in, medium to slim build and with a pale complexion. Police have released a computer generated image of a mystery woman seen visiting the grave of 'Baby April'She had grey shoulder-length hair and was wearing a grey short cardigan, trainers and black leggings.The woman was also believed to be carrying a small shoulder bag and had a fabric holdall with a floral pattern carried across her body that appeared to be quite full.The baby was found dead in Ashford 31 years ago. She weighed 7lb and her date of birth was estimated to have been between March 25 and April 3, 1995 – the week before her body was found. An extensive murder investigation took place following the discovery of her body, but detectives were unable to identify her parents or any relatives.In May 2011, police exhumed her body at Bybrook Cemetery in order to gain a full DNA profile. She was then laid to rest again at the cemetery.The newer DNA sample did not lead to any major breakthroughs in the investigation and the case remains unsolved. Officers have now issued an image of a woman they would like to identify as she may be able to shed light on the case.
