Russia says its Yak-130M is all Africa needs for all its air combat, as it offers local aviation weapons production support

Ahead of the El Alamein Airshow in Egypt, which is set to bring together several aviation titans from across the globe, another Russian aircraft manufacturer disclosed that its modernised Yak-130M trainer-combat aircraft is all Africa needs.

Alexander Mikheyev, CEO of arms exporter Rosoboronexport and deputy chairman of Soyuzmash, recently said the modernised Yak-130M trainer-combat aircraft is enough to meet Africa’s aviation combat requirements.

He made this statement as several aviation companies prepare to participate in Egypt’s El Alamein Airshow, scheduled for 8th to 10th of September.

"The modernized Yak-130M combat trainer, which serves as a light combat aircraft, will be in high demand among delegations from the air forces of African countries,” Alexander Mikheyev said, speaking to the Russian News Agency.

“It is capable of meeting the combat aviation needs of most sub-Saharan African countries thanks to its modern armament, including missiles and aerial bombs, as well as onboard systems," he added.
