Firmus has signed a multi-year capacity agreement with AI lab OpenAI in Malaysia.
Under the agreement, OpenAI will contract capacity from two Firmus AI data center locations in the country, with OpenAI serving as the anchor customer.
Meanwhile, OpenAI's efforts to establish a Stargate site in South Korea are reportedly struggling to get off the ground.

According to Firmus, the agreement with OpenAI brings its total contracted capacity across all customers to more than 900MW. The company currently has seven AI data centers across Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, either under development or in operation.
