What parties are running in the BARMM elections?

MANILA, Philippines – The intense rivalry between these parties can be both good and bad for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

With 13 regional parliament political parties and a total of nearly 700 candidates seeking just 80 seats, political participation in the region could broaden and offer BARMM voters a wider range of choices, according to the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL).

But ANFREL and other watchdog groups also say that with the heightened tensions between parties — made worse by clan and dynastic politics — there are also concerns regarding peace and security in the upcoming elections.
