Forty years in fashion called for something bigger than a conventional anniversary party, and Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla delivered exactly that. The designer duo marked four decades of their eponymous label with a maximalist celebration at Mubarak Baug, their newly opened flagship in South Mumbai, bringing together some of their most celebrated muses, friends and clients for an evening of couture, craftsmanship and theatrical fashion.

The celebration transformed the heritage space into a surreal fashion spectacle, with 50 models, including several of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's original and contemporary muses — arriving in limousines dressed in the designers' couture. Among them were Madhu Sapre, Carol Gracias, Sheetal Mallar, Ana Bredemeyer, Dipannita Sharma, Alicia Kaur, Rahul Dev, Gautam Kapoor, Bikram Saluja, Kelly Dorjee and Gaurav Arora.

But the models weren't simply there to make a dramatic entrance. After mingling with guests, they broke into two fashion flash mobs, turning the flagship into a moving showcase of AJSK's signature maximalism. Professional dancers joined the presentation, with choreography by Lubna Adams and Rian Mistry, while one of the performances unfolded at the store's Archival Museum, creating a visual link between the house's past and present.
