An Israeli court rejected requests to halt a tender for 1,234 illegal housing units in the occupied West Bank's E1 area.

The court ruled that "considerable time" would pass before physical changes occur, and the three legal petitions would likely be resolved beforehand.

Israel opened tenders for E1 development ahead of October's general election, a project frozen for over two decades under previous US administrations.

The EU, Israel's largest trading partner, has yet to reach consensus on trade sanctions, despite pressure from several member states.
