VANISHED: Missing Phumlani Village girl Anovuyo Oncke, 8
Bones and a blood-stained dress have been found under a container at Riemvasmaak informal settlement, where eight-year-old Anovuyo Oncke disappeared a year ago.
Grassy Park police were called to the Phumlani Village settlement at about 6.15pm on Monday after community members reportedly made the discovery while cleaning the area.
Police have opened an inquest and the bones will undergo forensic examination.
Western Cape police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala stressed that police could not yet establish whether the bones were human or whether there was any connection to Anovuyo.
