I love fashion trends, but I do not want my wardrobe to change every time my social media feed does.

That is especially true when it comes to shopping for a new season. There is always another silhouette, colour or aesthetic being pushed as the next big thing. Buy too much of it, and you can end up with a wardrobe full of pieces that looked exciting online but are surprisingly difficult to wear in real life.

So when I am thinking about a wardrobe refresh, I prefer to start with a different question.

Will I actually wear this enough to justify buying it?

For September, I would rather choose a few pieces that feel current without being so trend-specific that they become difficult to style later. I also want them to work with clothes I already own and fit into more than one part of my wardrobe.
