British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine during a phone call.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to the UK government press service.

The leaders agreed on the need “to continue working towards a ceasefire that prevented more loss of life.”

“The Prime Minister reiterated the UK’s support for Ukraine and for recent US-led peace negotiations,” the statement said.

Burnham also outlined Britain’s position on peace and security in the Middle East. He emphasized the importance of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
