D’Tigress’ woeful FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup campaign ended with another heavy defeat as France thrashed the African champions 111-56 in their final group game in Berlin on Monday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Nigerians were outplayed from start to finish, losing all but the fourth quarter as France raced to a 31-13 lead after the opening period and extended their advantage to 65-26 at half-time.

France continued their dominance in the third quarter, outscoring D’Tigress 30-13 before the Nigerians finally matched their opponents 17-17 in the final period.

Grace Efosa-Aguebor top-scored for Nigeria with 15 points, while France were led by Gabby Williams, who finished with 25 points.

The defeat followed losses to South Korea and Hungary, meaning D’Tigress finished their World Cup campaign without a victory.
