As public and private schools in Ogun State prepare to resume for the 2026/2027 academic session,the State Police Command has deployed its School Protection Squad across the state, in a move aimed at strengthening security around schools and protecting pupils, teachers and other members of the school community.
The Command said the deployment was in line with the strategic policing agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, which emphasises proactive, preventive and community-oriented policing.
According to the Command, the initiative is also designed to secure school infrastructure, gather actionable intelligence and ensure swift response to emerging security threats.
The Command disclosed this in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.
