Bruce Campbell is speaking out further after revealing his cancer diagnosis.

During a Sept. 2 appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, the Evil Dead actor said that he was given five years to live, “give or take,” after being diagnosed with cancer. He did not reveal which cancer he has been diagnosed with.

“With the type of cancer that I have, which I don’t want to get into, the current thing is a five-year deal,” Campbell said. “I’ve decided pretty specifically though to live with it, not die from it.”

He went on to say that it can be easy to “go down a massive rabbit hole” given “the cancer rabbit hole is enormous.” He explained, “You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have exactly what you have. I won’t touch it with a 10-foot pole.”

Campbell’s appearance on the podcast was to promote his new film, Ernie & Emma, which follows a small-town pear salesman following the death of his wife, Emma.
