The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed Mr Robert Kibet Kibor as the institution's Registrar, filling a position that has been held in an acting capacity for more than two years.

The position fell vacant after then Registrar, Winfridah Mokaya, was appointed Chief Registrar of the Judiciary in March 2024. Since then, Isaac Wamaasa has served as Acting Registrar.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the JSC said Mr Kibor was picked after a competitive process.

"The appointment of Mr Kibor follows a competitive recruitment process undertaken by the Commission, following the advertisement of the vacancy on January 16, 2026 and interviews conducted on June 30, 2026. The Commission appreciates all applicants and candidates who participated."

Mr Kibor has served at the JSC since 2012. He joined the Commission as a Legal Researcher and currently serves as Assistant Director, Legal Services.
