With Gowri Ganesha festival approaching close, many small and large groups of people in various locations across the city are already setting up pandals to install Ganesha idols and celebrate with pomp and grandeur.At the same time, officials of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) have warned organisers against procuring illegal electricity connections to these pandals which is unsafe and poses serious risk to lives. They have stated that procuring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is a must for the organisers.Speaking to The Hindu, a senior official from the Bescom, said, “In order to seek a temporary electricity connection, there is a single window currently open with the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) under which the organiser has to apply and get an NOC. The NOC has to be produced in the respective sub-division office of the Bescom, along with the passport photos of the organiser, Aadhaar Card and a festival pamplet.”
