District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya inaugurated ‘Vanasya – The Experience Centre’ at the Collectorate on Monday (September 7, 2026), with an objective to provide better marketing facilities to women for the natural products they create and to strengthen their livelihoods.Joint Collector Suraj Dhanunjay and officials from various departments, and representatives of women’s groups were present during the inauguration.Speaking on the occasion, the Collector noted that the centre would serve as an effective platform to promote the various livelihood activities undertaken by women and local communities in rural areas, thereby creating sustainable income opportunities for them. She stated that this Experience Centre was established following the guidelines of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, with the aim of fostering greater economic growth for women’s groups, small-scale producers, and tribal women by creating dedicated marketing platforms for locally manufactured products.The Collector said that the centre showcases and offers for sale a variety of natural products created by women’s groups, tribal women, and local producers under the aegis of departments such as DRDA, MEPMA, handlooms, horticulture, MSME, and the forest. The public can visit the centre to purchase products of their choice and in addition to individual purchases, bulk orders can also be placed, she added.Ms. Ganiya said that such initiatives contribute to advancing the ‘One Family — One Entrepreneur’ goal fostering women’s economic self-reliance and empowerment. She emphasised the need to encourage at least one woman in every family to emerge as a businesswoman or entrepreneur and become self-employed.The Collector stated that the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) provided financial support for the construction of this centre through its CSR funds, and that the facility was built using eco-friendly bamboo, in collaboration with an NGO recommended by SECI.The Collector urged the public to support the natural products made by local and tribal women. On the occasion, the Collector expressed gratitude on behalf of the district administration to SECI, the NGO representatives, and others who assisted in the construction of the centre.
