Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has said he has no plans to resign, but is prepared to leave office if the Verkhovna Rada makes such a decision.
He said this while speaking to journalists on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"There are legal procedures. I am not clinging to this position, and I never will. This is a decision for the team, the president or the Verkhovna Rada. As of this moment, I have made no such decision," he said in response to a question about whether he was prepared to resign.
According to Kravchenko, Ukraine is a state governed by the rule of law, where "the court has the final say, not a detective or an investigator."
He said he has answers to all questions being raised about him in connection with the detention by NABU detectives of Serhii Kropyva, deputy head of the Prosecutor General's Office's Department of International Cooperation, on allegations of covering up fraudulent call centers.
