With 19 games left in the season, the Twins trail Chicago by seven games in the AL Central while sitting 4 1/2 out in the wild-card race.“We didn’t play great,” Twins manager Derek Shelton said. “There’s no way to cut around it. You can’t walk 10 guys. And then when we did get guys in put-away counts, it looked like we left a lot of balls in the middle of the plate. … They did a good job of putting the ball in play and taking advantage of the situation that we put ourselves into.”How precarious was the position the Twins put themselves in?
