London-based AI data centre start-up Nscale said it will supply at least $3.5 billion (£2.6bn) of AI cloud computing capacity to San Jose-based humanoid robotics company Figure AI, in a deal that will also see Nscale make an undisclosed investment in the robot firm.
Nscale said it would deploy Nvidia Vera Rubin chips at a site in Barstow, Texas, to fulfil initial demand starting in the second half of 2027.
The company said Figure could buy an additional $2.5bn worth of Nvidia compute.

Nscale is to become a shareholder in Figure, reflecting a “shared approach to vertically integrated AI”, Nscale said, in a deal that will make Nscale the “preferred compute provider” for Figure.
