Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar adjourned the House till Tuesday (September 8, 2026). The session will resume at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. The first day of the Assembly’s monsoon session began on Monday with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs demanding an inquiry into the issue of lands in the prohibited properties list under Section 22A of Registration Act. They trooped into Well of the House raising the demand. Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu assured it would be taken up for discussion. However, with the sloganeering continuing, the Speaker adjourned the Assembly for 15 minutes. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislators, who wore black t-shirts with slogans ‘Congress failed to deliver promises in 1,000 days’, were stopped from entering the Assembly. They were taken away by police. Former Ministers and BRS women MLAs Sunitha Reddy and Sabitha Indra Reddy claimed that they were ill-treated by the police. Meanwhile, Congress legislators took strong exception to the alleged objectionable remarks made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Tata Madhu against the Speaker.The discussion over the remarks continued during the afternoon session of the House. Several legislators, including Ministers, demanded the termination of the MLC’s membership. Legislative Affairs Minister D.
