Global Knights enjoying their first place win in the Phoenix Super League series hosted by the Phoenix Cricket Club.

Weeks of packed boundaries, towering sixes, and clutch bowling spells all led to this. PSL Season 5 was defined by seasoned batters taking control, young prospects announcing themselves on the big stage, and local fans turning out in their numbers week after week. The entire tournament felt like a buildup to one final, chaotic showpiece—and it delivered a finish nobody in attendance will forget anytime soon. Down to the very last ball, Global Knights held their composure to pull off a dramatic four-wicket victory over Alphas, sealing their maiden PSL title.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Global Knights put Alphas in to bat. Alphas posted a competitive 144 all out in 19.5 overs, setting Global Knights a target of 145 for victory. The Alphas innings was anchored by Trishane Pillay, who top-scored with 46 runs off 37 balls, striking five fours and a six. Dane Madurai added vital late momentum with a quickfire 20 from just 11 deliveries before being run out.

Global Knights kept the pressure on throughout the innings, taking wickets at regular intervals and preventing Alphas from establishing the big partnerships needed to push their total past 150. Strinivasa Muthiyalu was the pick of the Global Knights attack, returning excellent figures of 3/16 from his four overs, while Rayal Govender provided valuable support with 2/25. Despite Alphas producing some productive overs—including 16-run bursts in both the 10th and 14th overs—regular strikes ensured Global Knights remained firmly in control.
