Tinubu’s Economic Reforms Need the Support and Sacrifice of All Nigerians
For more than three decades, Founder of Lee Engineering, Chief Leemon Ikpea CON, has built his reputation around an idea that Nigerians could build and own businesses capable of competing in some of the most technically demanding sectors of the economy. Under the Bola Tinubu administration, he believes that the country has never had a better chance of thriving and progressing significantly, writes Emmanuel Addeh.
At a time the oil and gas industry was largely defined by the dominance of multinational corporations and foreign technical expertise, Leemon Ikpea chose to invest in indigenous engineering capacity, gradually building what has become a formidable Nigerian business presence across engineering, construction, fabrication, oil and gas services and other allied interests.
That journey, from entrepreneur to industrialist and from businessman to philanthropist, provides perhaps the clearest context for understanding Ikpea’s outlook on Nigeria and his strong support for the economic reform programme being pursued by President Bola Tinubu.
Today, aside from Lee Engineering & Construction Company, he also runs Lee International Machinery & Services Limited; Tribet Aviation as well as Tribet Travels and Tours; Lee Oasis, among others.
