Updated September 7, 2026 — 4:00pm,first published September 7, 2026 — 7:03amPolice have blasted “unacceptable” violence on Sydney’s streets following a spate of unrelated attacks across the city that left several people in hospital.Three men filtered into Canterbury Hospital in the early hours of Monday morning with stab wounds following an alleged altercation outside a kebab shop on the corner of Canterbury Road and Fore Street at Canterbury.Paramedics transported the men to trauma hospitals. Two of the men, aged 23 and 24, were in a serious but stable condition, while a third man, 18, was stable.Detective Chief Superintendent Christine McDonald said the 24-year-old man and 18-year-old man were related and arrived together at the shop before an alleged altercation with the 23-year-old.“They are the three main people that we are looking at … we’ll continue looking into the reason why the altercation happened in the first place and whether anyone else is involved,” she said.“Their behaviour is completely unacceptable.”Forensic officers at the scene in Canterbury where three men were allegedly stabbed in an altercation.NineIt’s unclear what the men were doing in the area.“From the footage that I’ve seen, no one’s eating a kebab,” McDonald said.In another incident on Sunday night, a 19-year-old was hospitalised after being stabbed during an alleged attempt to collect a debt.The teenager arrived at a home on Ingham Avenue in Five Dock along with his 63-year-old father, who McDonald said believed he was owed a debt by a 36-year-old man at the home.The teenager and his father attended the home with a 36-year-old man and woman.The 36-year-old occupant was allegedly beaten with a metal broom pole, requiring urgent medical assistance from paramedics before being rushed to hospital.McDonald said the presence of children in the home at the time the group attended was concerning.“Four people turning up to someone’s house to get a debt back when there’s young children in the house is just completely unacceptable,” she said.The 36-year-old man who allegedly targeted the occupant has been charged with affray and destroying or damaging property. He was granted bail ahead of an appearance at Burwood Local Court on September 15. The 63-year-old man was released without charge.Police are continuing its investigations into the incident, and haven’t ruling out making further charges.Separately, a 38-year-old man is fighting for life after he was found with a stab wound to the stomach in Sydney’s west.The man was found injured at Moreton Bay Square, Bidwill, about 8.10pm on Sunday.A group of about 10 men and women who attended the scene allegedly attempted to interfere with the investigation but were dispersed without further incident, police say.Elsewhere, a 42-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were taken to Westmead Hospital after what police believe was a targeted home invasion at Guildford West.About eight men forced entry into a unit on Fairfield Road about 10pm, allegedly assaulting the pair before fleeing in a black four-wheel drive and a white dual cab ute.Police have appealed for any CCTV or dashcam footage as part of investigations into the separate incidents.McDonald said the incidents at Canterbury and Five Dock also appeared to be targeted attacks.“People in the community can be reassured that, if you’re a law-abiding [person] going about your own day, generally you’re going to be safe in our community,” McDonald said.“These people target one another, unnecessary violence, and we won’t cop it.”The targeted attacks came days after two fatal shootings believed to be mistaken identity killings.Jack Gramenz is a breaking news reporter at The Sydney Morning Herald.Connect via email.From our partners
