The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has imposed a penalty of ₹21 crore on Andhra Paper Ltd.Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, in his recent inspection of Turpulanka Sand Shoals and surrounding areas, had noticed violations of environmental norms, after which APPCB had also issued a show-cause notice to the company.As the company had failed to rectify the deficiencies despite being given repeated directions, notices, sufficient time and opportunities, the fine in the form of environmental correction compensation was imposed, according to APPCB.Published on September 6, 2026
