President Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, said they held "meaningful discussions" and are encouraged by the talks in Kyiv, part of a trip that began in Moscow, as the latest push to end more than 4½ years of Russia's full-scale invasion continues.Sunday marked the first time the U.S. envoys had traveled to Ukraine since Mr. Trump returned to office with a pledge to solve the conflict.Kushner, who is Mr. Trump's son-in-law, told reporters on Sunday that the president has been following the developments of the meetings "very closely" and is working hard to "find a pathway to end this war.""But not just to end the conflict. What President Trump's been very focused on is how do we create a framework that could actually build, lead to a durable peace," he added.After two rounds of discussion with the U.S. officials, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the goal was a "just, fair peace" that would ensure there was "never an opportunity to resume aggression against Ukraine."
