The car involved in an accident at Kunnamkulam in Thrissur on Saturday night that claimed the lives of three people.

A family of three was killed in a road accident at Kunnamkulam in Keralam’s Thrissur district late on Saturday night (September 5, 2026) when the driver of a car allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into their motorcycle.The victims were Munir, his wife, Shihna, and their three-year-old son, Ameen, all natives of Chavakkad.The accident occurred around 11.40 p.m. The car allegedly veered out of control, rammed the motorcycle and then crashed into a nearby electricity pole.Shihna and Ameen were trapped between the car and the pole and died in the impact. Munir was thrown off the motorcycle.The family were returning home after attending a wedding reception when the accident occurred.Local residents alleged that the car driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver has been subjected to a medical examination as part of the investigation.Munir, who was working in Saudi Arabia, had come home on leave. Published - September 06, 2026 04:11 pm IST
