US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are due in Kyiv on Sunday for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after spending more than three hours with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, as Washington seeks a route towards ending the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin and White House described Saturday’s meeting in positive terms but disclosed few details.
The White House said the meeting covered “substantive plans for next steps” and said further details would emerge in the coming weeks.
Witkoff and Kushner will now present the results of their Moscow discussions during their first wartime visit to the Ukrainian capital.
