Birmingham (EFE).- Amid growing allegations of irregular funding, Reform United Kingdom’s grassroots supporters remain steadfast in their backing of their leader, Nigel Farage. They accuse the political opposition, the authorities and the press of scheming to halt his rise.
«The establishment is out to get him; they’re out to get us, because we’re the party that stands for change,» Ian Richardson told EFE during the party’s annual convention in Birmingham (central England), which concludes on Saturday.
Showing no concern for the ongoing police and parliamentary investigations, many of those attending the gathering, the largest in the party’s history since its 2018 foundation as the Brexit Party, remain defiant in their determination to come to power and end irregular migration.
However, some, such as Councillor Michael Burnham, suggest that the leadership should do more to change the internal culture as Reform UK grows. They also regret that doubts about its management have hurt the party in the polls.
