McCann followed it up with dominant wins over Ebonie Cotton, Beata Dudek and Ashleigh Johnson.‌But after hearing of Taylor's farewell fight at Croke Park, the Scouse scrapper just had to be a part of history. The 36-year-old faced a step-up in competition in the shape of Polish-born, English-based, Sylwia Doligala.‌While it was expected to be a tough night at the office for 'Meatball,' it was anything but as McCann controlled the majority of the contest. From the off, the 36-year-old stayed patient, snapping away with the jab, and showed excellent footwork to get out of danger. In the first few minutes, Doligala really had trouble getting anywhere near her foe and merely opted to swing for the bleachers.‌McCann's power was on full display as she opened up several cuts on the face of Doligala midway through the contest. That said, Doligala's heart was on full display as she took so much damage, but continued to press forward in search of a stunning upset. However, she could not find any rhythm at all.In the end, a relentless McCann went on to cruise to a comfortable decision victory - with all three judges in agreement, as the scorecards read: 80-72, 80-73, 79-73. Despite dominating and producing a career-best performance, McCann was disappointed in the fact that she failed to get a knockout victory.Article continues belowSpeaking after the clash, she told DAZN: “I really wanted to get you the finish. I apologise, but she could take a dig, couldn't she? A year next week I've been boxing. I'm doing OK, I’m doing well, it was a big step up. I handled myself and fought well. Matchroom is the greatest company I’ve ever worked for. This is unbelievable.”Matchroom supremo Eddie Hearn was quick to praise McCann's display in the squared-circle, and believes his star client is ready for bigger and better fights. “We’re ready to move on to 10-round championship fights now," he said. "She has the platform because she deserves the platform.”
