Israeli attacks have killed five Palestinians in Gaza over the past 48 hours, while rescue workers have recovered 11 bodies from beneath the rubble, the enclave’s Health Ministry says.

Another Palestinian died from earlier wounds, bringing the number of bodies received by Gaza’s hospitals to 17. Medical facilities also treated 27 injured people.

More victims remain trapped beneath destroyed buildings or lying in the streets because ambulance and civil defence crews cannot reach them, the ministry added.

Israeli attacks have killed 1,344 Palestinians and injured 4,464 others since last October’s “ceasefire”. Rescue workers have also recovered 815 bodies from buildings destroyed by Israel during the genocide.
