The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old male suspect, Kosisochukwu Ibekwe, in connection with the murder of Miss Vivian Chilaka, a 23-year-old nursing student.
Recall that the tragic incident which reportedly occurred in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, on June 14, 2026, attracted widespread public concern, where the landlord of the deceased was fingered.
In a press statement released on Saturday, the Spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspect was arrested on September 4, following credible and actionable information received by the Command.
Ikenga added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly gained access to the building by climbing the fence with the aid of a ladder, with the initial intention of sexually assaulting the victim.
He said after the suspect forcefully gained entry into the deceased’s house, he allegedly used a knife to stab her, leading to her death.
