ATLANTA (AP) — Cameran Brown threw two touchdown passes, six players scored rushing touchdowns, and revamped Georgia State rolled past FCS opponent North Carolina A&T 59-10 in the Panthers’ season opener on Friday night.

After a 1-11 season in 2025, Georgia State signed 37 transfers and 24 incoming freshmen.

Brown, in his second season with the Panthers, also played at Texas Tech and West Georgia. On Friday he completed 15 of 20 passes for 190 yards. The Panthers had 563 yards of total offense, 279 passing and 284 on the ground. Lanear McCrary Jr. led with 75 rushing yards on nine carries and Savion Hart had a 41-yard touchdown run.

The Panthers punted on their first possession then scored touchdowns on their next six. DJ Riles’ 26-yard punt return set up the first score, a 30-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Dennis Murray Jr. Brown’s short touchdown pass to Jamari Miller wrapped up the first half with the Panthers leading 35-7.

The touchdown streak ended in the middle of the third quarter when Samer Layous kicked a 26-yard field goal although a blocked punt by Tre Mittman had set up the Panthers at the NC A&T 8-yard line.
