Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal faced accusations of racism on Friday after calling US House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries an “AIPAC monkey.”

“His name is Hakeem. ‘Hakeem’ is an Arabic name which means ‘healer.’ He’s not a healer, he’s a divider,” Jebreal said during an appearance on New York Times columnist Wajahat Ali’s left-wing podcast “The Left Hook.”

“He is a bought and paid by AIPAC monkey,” she said, before adding, “with all due respect — and I don’t mean it in a racist way.”

“He is just basically an errand boy, and we’re done and tired,” Jebreal continued.

Jeffries, a Democrat, has reportedly received large donations linked to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israel lobby group, throughout his political career.
