The very next play, he powers his way into the end zone. Two plays in, and it's 7-0, Mountaineers.WVU got backed up after getting a stop and went three and out. Coastal got great field position, but couldn't capitalize, failing on a fourth down attempt.Mike Hawkins Jr. goes 3/3 on third down on this drive and hits Armoni Weaver-Bomar for a 49-yard touchdown. It's 14-0 WVU.The Mountaineers get a quick stop and are now on the move. 14-0 at the end of the first.2nd QuarterWVU's drives stalls out, but Jack Cassidy connects on a 38-yard field goal to make it 17-0.Well, that drive for Coastal didn't last long. Linebacker Ashton Woods punches the ball out after a pass was caught by Cyrus Ellison and freshman Matt Sieg was Johnny-on-the-spot, recovering it.WVU was about to score, but Mike Hawkins Jr. fumbled the ball through the back of the end zone trying to reach it across the goal line. WVU gifted the Chants with a bunch of yardage on the drive due to penalties.
