We are delighted to welcome Eric Boittier to Lab COSMO as a postdoctoral researcher!Eric completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Queensland in Australia, where he specialized in computational methods for drug discovery. He then pursued a PhD in Physical Chemistry at the University of Basel in Switzerland, where he developed new energy functions for modeling electrostatics within the CHARMM molecular dynamics package. His work combined traditional molecular mechanics force fields with machine-learning approaches, including equivariant graph neural networks. At COSMO, Eric will be a key contributor to the Metatensor codebase. He will focus on managing its integration and optimizing its performance across the broader ecosystem, including Metatrain and Metatomic, as part of an important PASC (Platform for Advanced Scientific Computing) project. We are very pleased to have Eric join the team and look forward to the experience and fresh perspectives he brings. We wish him every success in his work at Lab COSMO!
