There is something immediately reassuring about the new Superb. It is unmistakably a Skoda, yet its design has a premium quality that makes it look more expensive than the badge might suggest. The fourth-generation car has a distinctly elegant presence without losing the understated character that has always defined the Superb.The design is particularly effective because of the way Skoda has handled its proportions. The Superb is a large car, but the contoured surfacing and sharply defined lines disguise much of its bulk. There is a chiselled quality to the bodywork that gives it a hint of sportiness, while the overall stance retains the luxury element you would expect from a flagship sedan. Compared with the previous Superb, it does not feel dramatically different in size, but the new design makes it appear more proportionate and better resolved.
