Changnyeong Wigung Jaesa, a nationally registered cultural heritage site, stands in Dream Forest in Gangbuk-gu, northern Seoul. (Seoul Metropolitan Government) Seoul will hold an autumn music festival Saturday at the Changnyeong Wigung Jaesa complex in Dream Forest in Gangbuk-gu, northern Seoul, featuring live performances and craft activities.The event will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. around the traditional hanok complex, a nationally registered cultural heritage site.Changnyeong Wigung Jaesa was built for Kim Byung-joo, a son-in-law of King Sunjo, the 23rd monarch of the Joseon era. The site is also associated with Kim Seok-jin, Kim’s grandson, who took his own life after refusing a Japanese title following Japan’s 1910 annexation of Korea.Five paid craft activities -- including terrarium making, sea-glass crafts and art-lamp making -- will be offered to up to 800 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Food trucks will operate throughout the event.A free outdoor concert will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the historic complex. The lineup includes a rock band, children’s belly dance group, electronic violinist, acoustic guitar duo, ocarina and pan flute performances, and a classical vocal duet.No advance reservation is required for the concert.
