The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Gurugram, on Saturday issued a public advisory after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) sounded a nowcast warning for heavy rainfall in the district, urging residents to avoid non-essential travel and stay away from waterlogged areas.In a statement issued on September 5, the IMD forecast rainfall exceeding 15 mm per hour over the next two to three hours, accompanied by moderate thunderstorms and gusty winds. Stay Alert," the advisory, issued by the office of the District Magistrate-cum-Chairperson, DDMA Gurugram, said.NCR battles another wet weekendThe advisory comes amid a fresh spell of heavy rain across the National Capital Region, a day after intense showers on Friday triggered widespread waterlogging, flight delays and traffic snarls in Delhi and its suburbs. A weather station in Gurugram recorded 44.5 mm of rainfall, while Noida logged 0.5 mm during the same spell.The IMD had earlier issued a red alert for all 11 districts of Delhi, warning of moderate to heavy rain, and red and orange alerts remained in force for parts of the region through Saturday morning.
