“All Ministers, except three who have been assigned special responsibilities, will participate in the launch of the Prajaseva Department’s public grievance redressal programme,” Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said at Kudal Sangam in Bagalkot district on Friday.“We had planned for all Ministers to personally launch the grievance sessions in their districts. However, three Ministers, including the Primary and Secondary Education Minister and the Medical Education Minister, will not be able to attend due to Teachers’ Day celebrations. We have made it mandatory for all Ministers to chair grievance sessions at the district level twice a month. They will be held on the first and third Saturdays of every month. The Ministers must visit every taluk and listen to the grievances of the people. After the first round, they should also go down to the hobli level. MLAs have been instructed to meet people at the panchayat level and resolve issues. It is not that all problems will be solved immediately. But if we go to the people and understand their problems directly, the chances of finding solutions are higher,” he said.“We have established the department with the aim of listening to people’s problems and finding solutions on the spot. The State-level launch will be held in Kudligi on Saturday. We are putting in place systems and processes to take the government to the doorsteps of the people and resolve their problems,” he said.Earlier, he inspected red gram crops in the field of farmer Andaneppa Koti at Shiroor village in Bagalkot district.
