After Penguin exit, HarperCollins picks up Sonia Gandhi’s memoir
Sonia Gandhi’s memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love, will now be published in India by HarperCollins on November 10, days after Penguin Random House India decided not to publish it. The decision followed reported disagreements over passages concerning Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India-China ties and the RSS. Penguin denied dropping the book over editorial changes, while Congress leaders alleged external pressure and raised concerns over freedom of expression.
