A UK-based travel company has suspended all trips, the latest in a string of industry closures.Wayfairer Travel Limited, which was founded in 2012, specialises in package holidays to a range of destinations, from Africa to Asia, Europe and the Middle East.Offering trips including safari holidays, adventure-focused getaways and luxury alternatives, the firm has now closed its doors 'until further notice'.A statement from the company said: 'We are truly sorry for the concern and uncertainty caused by the current situation.'Wayfairer Travel has currently suspended all services until further notice.'At this stage, we are unable to provide further information until we have received the appropriate accounting and legal advice.'These discussions are currently under way, and we expect to provide a formal update during the week commencing 31 August.'We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologise that we cannot provide greater clarity at this time.' Wayfairer Travel Limited, which offered luxury and adventure package holidays, has closed 'until further notice'It is now taking steps to appoint an administrator. However, a number of customers currently on trips or with bookings with Wayfairer have argued they have been left in the dark.Yesterday one customer wrote on Trustpilot: 'Wayfairer left us stranded in Botswana. Do not use this company or whatever it rebrands as! If I could leave a zero star rating I would!'We are currently trying to complete our vacation out of pocket with no word from Wayfairer or offer of refund or compensation.' Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (ABTOT) said: 'Because Wayfairer cannot currently provide certainty that affected packages will be delivered, ABTOT is putting arrangements in place to assist eligible UK customers.'ABTOT has warned 'do not travel' if you have booked a holiday with Wayfairer Travel on or before September 30, 2026.It added: 'If your departure is after 30 September 2026, await further information unless you are contacted directly with different instructions.' It's the most recent in a string of travel firm closures across the UKIt follows a wave of closures across the travel industry. Earlier this summer, another travel firm went bust after 28 years of trading, with all holidays cancelled and customers scrambling to get their money back. Global Vision International (GVI), based in Exeter, previously offered volunteering and charitable trips including placements in conservation, education and community development. But all current and future GVI programmes have been cancelled, and staff are supporting participants as they plan to leave their trips. Similarly, last month Ski Yodl Ltd voluntarily entered liquidation.The Norwich-based company previously offered ski holiday packages to destinations such as the French Alps, but now trips have been cancelled.
