PlayStation's September State of Play dropped a very fun, retro surprise for Lego fans: the original PlayStation console and controller are getting a 1,911-piece brick-built makeover, and the set is releasing this October (see it here at the Lego Store). Priced at $179.99, this brand-new set is unfortunately not available to preorder at the time of writing, but don't fret. It will be available very soon. If you're a Lego Insider — and if not, it's free to sign up — the set will be available to buy from Oct. 1. For everyone else, it will be available to buy from Oct. 4.

According to the PlayStation blog, this set is a "near 1:1 scale" of the original console, and measures over 2.5 inches (6 cm) high, 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide, and 7.5 inches (19 cm) deep. The hardware has plenty of fun details: The console features functional open and power buttons you can press, and the controller can even be plugged in. There are some excellent easter eggs for longtime fans to enjoy, too.
