A potential mishap was averted at Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport, Srinagar, on Friday morning when an IndiGo flight from Navi Mumbai came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being parked at Bay No. 06, airport authorities said.The contact occurred at around 9:02 a.m. All passengers and crew members on board were safe and no injuries were reported. They were later safely deboarded from the aircraft.The circumstances leading to the incident will be examined by the relevant authorities, while airport operations remained normal, with flights continuing as scheduled, the airport said.Published on September 4, 2026
