Dr Zakariya Zakari, the Chief Executive Officer of MNI Analysis Partners, has urged African governments to embrace local skills and indigenous knowledge for sustainable development.
He made the call on Tuesday at the 2nd International Conference of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Lokoja (FUL), which held from August 30 to September 2.
The conference which had as its theme: “African Indigenous Knowledge Systems: Decolonial Praxis for Sustainable Development” showcased Zakari, who delivered the lead paper, wherein he observed that decades of reliance on imported knowledge had left Africa behind.
As such, he urged African governments to launch an “indigenous revolution” built on local skills and knowledge systems.”
