North Macedonia Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski
North Macedonia Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has called on Bulgaria to act on an arrest warrant for the father of Iva Mihaylova and extradite him to North Macedonia, where he is expected to serve a 12-year prison sentence for an offense related to attempted murder.
Mickoski's comments came after Simeon Mihaylov appeared in Bulgarian media and spoke publicly about the court proceedings against his daughter in Kochani.
“We have an arrest warrant and we expect our partners to act in accordance with the partnership, because we are partners with our eastern neighbor in another alliance called NATO,” Mickoski said.
He added that he expected people who are wanted, accused or convicted of crimes to be handed over to North Macedonian authorities and face the judicial process. “Only in this way can anyone prove their guilt or innocence,” the prime minister said.
