Two of Nigel Farage’s closest advisers have stepped down pending investigation after an undercover report alleged they had breached political donation rules, plunging the party’s annual conference into chaos.
Channel 4 News and Verbatim, a group of investigative journalists, published footage alleging that Farage had welcomed foreign donations, leading to claims the party had breached UK funding rules.
The broadcaster claimed that James Orr, the party’s head of policy, and Dan Jukes, one of Farage’s close aides, had arranged for a US company to fund three polls for Reform UK, costing a total of £32,500. But the purported donors were in fact undercover reporters from investigative group Verbatim posing as an American financier and his UK-based son.

Channel 4 also claimed that Farage welcomed a potential future political donation via the UK-based son, which his aides previously said would be £500,000. This proposed larger donation was never made.
