Chelsea have completed another remarkable summer of transfer activity, but this time their spending was matched by an unprecedented clear-out of players.
The Blues spent around £349 million on 11 new signings, including Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix and Emiliano Martinez. However, they also moved 39 players out of the club through permanent transfers and loans.
In a BBC Sport report on Thursday, the scale of the departures marks a significant change in Chelsea’s approach to squad management since the club’s forced sale by Roman Abramovich in May 2022.
