The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is mounting a major logistical and medical preparedness drive for the nine-day Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams from September 15 to 23, with additional doctors, paramedical staff, ambulances and accommodation being lined up to handle the anticipated pilgrim rush.TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary reviewed the arrangements of the Reception, Medical, Transport, and Police departments in Tirumala on Thursday, and directed the officials to ensure that devotees faced no inconvenience during the festival.The TTD would deploy 75 additional doctors, 60 paramedics and 16 ambulances, over and above the existing strength of 11 doctors and 139 paramedical staff. Ashwini Hospital and Apollo Cardiac Centre would operate round the clock during the Brahmotsavams, he said.Six dispensaries, 10 first-aid centres and six new medical camps would be positioned at key points across the town. A mobile clinic would also operate between Krishnateja Circle and Gogarbham Circle. Officials were directed to maintain adequate medicine stocks and ensure swift evacuation of emergency cases to hospitals.Mr. Chowdary also reviewed accommodation arrangements and ordered the Reception Department to bring 60% of the rooms in mutts and Karnataka Choultries under its control during the Brahmotsavams period to house staff arriving on deputation for festival duties.He directed officials to complete pending repairs in accommodation rooms and keep facilities ready ahead of the festival. Police and transport officials were asked to facilitate the movement of ambulances through the Mada Streets during emergencies and ensure that drivers remained alert and disciplined.He stressed close coordination among the departments to ensure that the heavy pilgrim movement during the Brahmotsavams did not translate into avoidable delays in medical assistance or accommodation.
