The Apollo Global Management co-founder filed suit in federal court Thursday after refusing to appear for a sworn deposition before the committee

Leon Black sued the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Thursday, asking a federal court in Washington to block two subpoenas the panel issued to him as part of its investigation into his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, according to CNBC. Black also refused to appear for a sworn deposition before the committee that was scheduled for Thursday morning.
In the suit, Black contends the subpoenas overstep the committee's powers by demanding private records with no connection to Epstein or any valid legislative goal, and calls on a federal judge to invalidate the subpoenas and prevent the committee from enforcing them. The filing further warns that compliance with the subpoenas could compromise the privacy of women who entered into confidentiality agreements and have no publicly established link to Epstein.
