Sharjah's ruler has approved a monthly minimum wage of $5,445 for government employees, affecting approximately 18,000 workers.
New university graduates joining the government will receive a starting monthly salary of Dh27,125, while school leavers will earn Dh20,950.
Retirees from the Sharjah government will also receive the minimum monthly living allowance, benefiting more than 2,250 people at a total cost of Dh113 million.
More than 6,650 families receiving social service benefits will receive a minimum monthly allowance of Dh20,000, costing the government Dh195.1 million.
