Millie Bright has revealed she's pregnant with her first child, five months after dating influencer boyfriend Tom Mitchell11:56, 03 Sep 2026Updated 15:49, 03 Sep 2026Lioness legend Millie Bright is pregnant with her first child after announcing her retirement in April.‌The footballer, 33, and her influencer boyfriend Tom Mitchell shared their happy news five months after going public with their relationship on social media.‌The couple shared their baby news during a joint interview with Women’s Health, saying they are thrilled to start their own family.‌“It’s overwhelming, it’s exciting to bring another life into the world,” says Millie with Tom revealing he was 'very surprised' when the Chelsea star broke the news“It’s been difficult. I’m used to being very athletic and my body fitting into certain clothes, and that’s been changing," admitted Millie.“Now I’m embracing it and I feel good about myself, confident and happy, because I’m getting to the stage where I look pregnant and feel pregnant, whereas before I just felt unfit.”‌"Slowing down has probably been the hardest thing for me. When I was playing the girls would be like, "What are you doing on your rest day?" and I'd be like "I did this, this, this, this". To me, that was resting. But luckily I have my little angel by my side in Tom."‌Influencer Tom revealed he was dating Millie earlier this year. Posting to Instagram, he said: “Things happen quick and people click (like never before)… first weekend as my partner and couldn’t be happier or prouder to be with you.“Just the start!! Plenty of memories to be come and definitely made a HUGE difference to my life in such a short amount of time!“Thank you Millie Bright had the BEST weekend, so glad I’ve met you.”‌Millie replied: “Special human. Haven’t stopped belly laughing, so many things to come T. Feeling extremely lucky. MAD MAD MAD. Don’t ever change.”Millie announced her retirement from football at the age of 32 in April this year. The former Chelsea captain is the Women's Super League's record appearance maker and has won 20 trophies, including eight legal titles and a domestic treble twice, across a 12-year Blues career.She also earned 88 caps for England Lionesses team and won the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 championship on home soil. Millie also captained England to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Final in Australia and New Zealand.‌Away from the pitch, the sportswoman has been open mental health challenges after stepping down from England duties.When withdrawing from Sarina Wiegman's Euros squad in 2025, she said she was "not able to give 100 per cent physically and mentally".Speaking about the decision, she said: "Representing Chelsea over the last 12 years has been everything to me, but I'm now ready to say goodbye to playing football.Article continues below"I've given all I can, and I never wanted to fight for any other badge.
